Good news at Cachuma Lake - the Lake is already at a higher level than it was at last year's Fish Derby and the lower boat launch ramp is open! The Lake level has risen over 39 feet since mid-February and is still rising! As of 033117, the lake has reached 50.4% of capacity.
Also the Trout and Fish are biting! Cachuma Lake has already had 2 trout plants of 4,000 pounds of trout and will have a special plant of 2,000 pounds the week of the Derby!
Other great activities are also planned over the Fish Derby weekend, such as special children's activities and interactive exhibits at the Nature Center. The Lake Cachuma Recreation Area will also be offering guided nature walks, Junior Rangers, and eagle cruises. A Nature Center book sale will be held over the weekend too!
Come join in the fun and help to support the Nature Center at its 22nd Annual Fish Derby!
